Here we visit a Maya family. See how they live in the gap between modern touristic time and their traditions. You see the little shop right in front of their properties where they try to sell chewing gum and coca cola to the tourists and inside the mama is still making tortillas by hand. See how they live and what they plant in their garden. Try the handmade tortillas and the chilies growing in the garden.
On the other side of the road you enter the biosphere reserve of Sian Kaan. You see the ruins of Muyil. A small and unknown sight but very impressive. From here you take a walk right through the jungle over a prepared path. Trees and plants, swamp and cenotes and we take you right through. We show you the different plants and trees and their purpose, why the jungle is not like the other jungles you probably know, how does this sensitive and balanced piece of nature works.
At the end of the path the jungle opens up and you stand right in front of a huge lagoon. The water in front of you is as smooth as glass. On your right you find a 14 meter perch. From the top of the perch you see the second lagoon right behind the one in front of you and all is surrounded by jungle.
After a typical Mayan snack, tamales, you continue with little boats crossing the lagoon. You will find small channels made by the Mayan long time ago to find a way to the ocean. These channels are hemmed by mangroves right and left, filled with milky clear water and a light current.
You will take a life jacket, sit on top of it and slowly drift with the current. The boats wait like 20 minutes ahead. It’s just you and the others of the group literally covert in nature. It’s such an intensive natural experience to hear and feel the nature with all your senses.
For Lunch we take you to one of the best restaurants along the beach of Tulum, famous for its incredible starters and amazing food.
As final stop we take you back to the jungle and visit a Cenotes, one of these sacred Mayan caves.
